The Q?RIUS (pronounced curious) Experience at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History is a unique, interactive science education space and a whole new way for teens and tweens to discover science and the natural world. RBH was on the team that developed the media plan and media systems design for the Coralyn W. Whitney Science Education Center.
Q?rius gives visitors access to things that normally would be behind the scenes. By talking with scientists, experiencing how they conduct research, and handling real specimens from the Smithsonian collections, students research information through custom-designed touchscreen workstations. They can save their research to “field journals” that can be shared beyond the Q?rius Education Center in order to enhance their grasp of the natural world, awaken new interests, and build inquiry skills for life.
