Ten large framed displays, hung vertically in a two-story space, serve as a constantly changing portrait gallery of notable 18th century Jewish families of Newport, RI at the Touro Synagogue Loeb Visitor Center. Nearby, visitors can access biographical information on over 400 family names in four touchscreen databases.
The exhibit also features eight video “vignettes”of life in 18th c. Newport. RBH wrote, cast, costumed, directed, recorded and edited eight playlets, and designed special projection systems to bring to life the cast of characters that inhabited pre-revolutionary Newport.
